My career spans 41 years in the care / nursing industry. I started my career in a Psychogeriatric ward of a psychiatric hospital in my homeland of Scotland in 1979 my career progressed into nursing in 1982 where I trained as an SEN, later they were phased out for RGN and RMN only. After a short pause to start a family I then moved with my children to England, Stoke-On-Trent, it was during this period I discovered Domiciliary Care and immediately new this was where my heart lay. A move to Warrington 18 months later would lay the foundations and course of my career into creating and running my own Domiciliary Care Company and in 1993, the company was formed and grew to become very popular and became one of the largest providers in Warrington, having traded for 25 years and bringing investors in it was time to move on.
In 2019 again feeling a yearning for Domiciliary Care decided with my children to open C & D Family care Ltd. In June 2019 we became registered with Care Quality Commission and in November 2019 we became validated with the local authority and registered with Clinical Commissioning Group.
Our company ethos is to care for the individual as we would wish to be cared for, or indeed that our family. Our company logo depicts the thistle of our Scottish roots from St Andrews in the Kingdom of Fife to the Fair City of Perth in Tayside and the open hands signify equality and diversity to represent the diverse nation we live in

Hi I’m Jess. I have worked in care now for approximately 5 years. I started my care journey in a care home and new this was the career I wanted to peruse. I soon became a senior career as I wanted to progress my career further and then went on to being the care team leader on nights. After this I came to work for C&D family care as a carer! This was a massive change but i soon realised that it was a change for the better. After passing my driving test I then had the opportunity to progress my career with C&D and became a senior carer. I really enjoy my job and would never change it. Here’s to the next chapter in my life.
